Just a tip after some time of frustration on my side:
Make sure to save the gratisdns.sh file with UNIX style end-of-line characters. This can easily be achieved in for instance Notepad++ with the menu point "Edit"->"EOL Conversion"->"UNIX Format".

Of course, chmod the script. I never do that, because it's already eXecutable when transferring from a Windows computer over SMB :) But good point none the less :)

Regarding the change of the __URL__ string, have you checked the /var/log/gratisdns_ddnsd.log file as to why?

I have an idea as to why it might be failing (only guessing here), and that might be if you're using second-level subdomain (ie.: sub2.sub1.domain.tld).

The __DOMAIN__ variable is merely the __HOSTNAME__ split into parts, delimited by a period/dot (.), and then returning the 2nd and 3rd delimiters. If it's a second-level subdomain, then it will of course be incorrect, because that would return "sub1.domain", with no tld.

IF that is the case, then it should be enough to change the following line:
__DOMAIN__="$(echo ${__HOSTNAME__} | cut -d. -f2-3)"

To this instead:
__DOMAIN__="$(echo ${__HOSTNAME__} | cut -d. -f2-)"

Thanks for the script. It looks like it works perfectly.
Don't forget to chmod +x the script.

chmod +x /sbin/gratisdns.sh <- it makes the file executable.
I also had to change this line:

__URL__="https://ssl.gratisdns.dk/dd...{__USERNAME__}&p=${__PASSWORD__}&d=${__DOMAIN__}&h=${__HOSTNAME__}&i=${__MYIP__}"

To:

__URL__="https://ssl.gratisdns.dk/dd...{__USERNAME__}&p=${__PASSWORD__}&d=${__HOSTNAME__}&h=${__HOSTNAME__}&i=${__MYIP__}"

Before I changed that, I kept getting an error from gratisdns, that the user didn't have permission to update the domain, or something like that.

I'm using DSM 4.1 Beta.

If I want to calculate e. g. 5/1000, my eggdrop returns 0.5, instead of 0.005. I don't know why. Any idea, how to fix this?

Just installing a Drobo FS now. Seemed fine on the old dashboard that is still shipping on the CD even though the new software has been out well over a year. Maybe I got a unit that sat in inventory a long time?

Updated the dashboard to the 2.x version and the drobo firmware and shutdown my computer over night, this morning the dashboard won't find the Drobo. But it's on the network and I can write to it no problem.

Restarted the drobo, even moved it to be on the same switch as my computer to ensure there was no strange network issues. Still not in the dashboard.

Next step, reboot windows. Shouldn't be this difficult. Drobo FS should come with a web based interface like routers do. It runs linux. It's got an app for apache. This shouldn't be so flaky.

Update: Rebooted Win 7 several times. No change. Not willing to deal with a device for such a critical task that makes me rely on a temperamental proprietary desktop interface. Returning this unit and getting a Synology DS 1511+

Well. If you don't know, then I don't know if I would recommend messing with the configuration files on the DSM. I can't guarantee that my script won't do something NASty, like make some important service go all wonky, or even just blowing up :-) In essence, I take no responsibility for any misdeeds my script might do on your NAS.

Getting the file there would be pretty easy, since it's a NAS, right? :-) Just open notepad. Copy the script content into notepad, then save it as "gratisdns.sh" (without the "quotes", obviously). Copy that file to some share on your NAS. Then you just SSH to your NAS and copy/move the file to the location specified in the Description section of the script.

I've cancelled my WoW subscription currently, so can't answer that, really. I would think you could use the Periodic Table (pt) rule functions to match the pigments:

If in doubt you can go into Edit Mode in ArkInventory then check the details on one of your pigments and see what it would match against.

I haven't looked into the Dropbear issues since installation. My best bet is to look at the logfile that is generated in the Dropbear App folder to troubleshoot the issue.

Hey, I've run into the same issue with my Drobo Pro FS. I'm ssh'ed in (using Dropbear), and the connection suddenly drops. Subsequent attempts to connect are met with a terse 'Connection refused' statement.

The disconnection occurred once when I was in the middle of a large file transfer, but has also happened when I had nothing but the terminal open and was doing admin work (looking at /etc/groups).

Brian, do you have a sense of why the dropoff/refusal-to-reconnect occurs?

well, i'm still working on trying to get the dropbear app to work.. until now i haven't been succesfull. those apps are defintely not working out of the box ;)

Awesome guide... I had as slot for soulbound items, but got sick of fishing though them to find stuff that wasn't part of my set to vendor/DE and this helped me a lot. One modification, however: equip(Tabard) should be equip("Tabard") with quotes. This may apply to some of the others, but I'm not sure as I have not tried.

Man skal have børnehænder for at kunne bruge 10-finger systemet, også i landscape. 4-6-finger systemet kan lige gå.

WordPress App'en er ca. 3 sekunder bagud ift. den hastighed jeg kan skrive. Apples salgsgimmick med at det er en erstatning for en bærbar computer, hvis det bare er tekstbehandling, holder ikke. Den kan på ingen måde hamle op med en bærbar computers tastatur eller tekstbehandlingsprogram. Det samme gælder sletning af tegn, der er den endnu sløvere.

Hvis man så skal ind midt i teksten og rette noget, så skal man først slås med iPads markerings system, derefter lige slås med dens ordbog igen.Og det er det jeg mener med navigering i dokumenter, at man skal sidde of fifle med at ramme helt rigtigt, eller sidder og holde fingeren nede et sekund for at få luppen frem, fremfor blot lige at markere i området og så bruge pilene til resten. Det er ganske simpelt alt alt alt for langsomt og besværligt, hvis man rent faktisk gerne vil have opgaven klaret hurtigt og tilfredsstillende.

Jeg er efterhånden ikke uvant til at skrive på den. I forhold til et ordentlig tastatur, jo så er jeg uvant, så bliver jeg aldrig "vant". Det er samme grund til at jeg ikke gider at skrive SMS'er. Det sløve lort har jeg ikke tålmodigheden til i længden.

Jeg tror ikke engang DU kommer udenom at det primært er et stykke legetøj, og en fjern sekundær et seriøst arbejdsredskab. Den er ganske simpelt for dyr til det den er god til, nemlig web-browsing og let spil, synes jeg.

10 fingersystem fungerer perfekt på iPad'en sålænge du har den i landscape mode, så kan man altså skrive pænt hurtigt på den.

Wordpress app'en er noget skrammel ja, men hvis det har taget dig en time at skrive den her post så siger det vidst mest om dine evner på en iPad, tager nok ikke meget mere end 10-15min max hvis man ved hvad man laver.

Den er glimrende til at fjernstyre servere/vmware etc. med, til at læse mails, se film, høre musik, streame ting fra nettet og mange andre ting.

Ja den stinker til at læse bøger på og ja iPhone/iPad ordbogen er totalt til grin og noget af det første man slår fra overhovedet.

Navigeringen rundt i dokumenterne tager ikke specielt lang tid når man først har lært hvordan. Mange af dine problemer er ganske simpelt at du ikke er vant til at bruge den ;)

Thanks Stefano Savanelli for the Google Apps Button for email. However the button keeps disappearing. I'm using Firefox and usually when I close FF and reopen, the button has disappeared. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
